We welcome you to the St. Mark Lutheran Church and Preschool website.

As you explore these pages, you will find out about the ministry of St. Mark congregation and preschool.

We have links to information about what Lutheran Christians believe and to devotional resources. Here at St. Mark we take our vision seriously:

Reaching the Lost, Growing in Faith, and Serving in Love.

  • Reaching the Lost. St. Mark is involved intentionally in our community. We believe that the Gospel of Jesus brings the forgiveness of sins through His life, death and resurrection, and we proclaim that truth in church and in the community.

  • Growing in Faith. We believe that we are nurtured in God’s Word and that in His Word we grow in our understanding of what He has done for all people and us.

  • Serving in Love. We believe that we are called to serve our neighbors, friends and families with the good gifts God has given us.

I would love for you to join us in worship and study on Sunday mornings. Or get to know us through any of our upcoming events. You are always welcome here at St. Mark.

Please feel free to contact me or the church office with any questions.

Blessings, Pastor Terry Adamson

*Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Pastor Terry Adamson, born in Phoenix, Arizona, studied originally to be a German, French and History teacher. The Lord, however, had other plans, and in 1992, Pastor Adamson graduated from Concordia Seminary. He has served parishes in Bogalusa, Louisiana; Lafayette, Louisiana; and Mustang, Oklahoma; and Amherst, Ohio. During the 1990-1991 school year, while on his vicarage [pastoral internship] in Port Arthur, Texas, he met the lovely Claudia Acosta and her children Lita and David. As things go, the vicar and Claudia met, became friends, and the short version has it that they fell in love and married. Pastor and Claudia will be married for 26 years this coming November 10. The children have grown up: Lita, married to John Ross, with one son, Mason, and David, married to Kourtney, with a son, Huck, and daughter, Harper, all live in Buna, Texas, East-North-East of Beaumont. Claudia, born in Port Arthur, Texas, was attending Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, when vicar carried her off to the Missouri northland of St. Louis for one last year of his seminary education.
